Soojeong Park will participate in Fabricated Freedoms, a group exhibition at Rosebud Contemporary in Chelsea, New York. Fabricated Freedoms, presented by Rosebud Contemporary in collaboration with the School of Visual Arts MFA Fine Arts program, is a group exhibition of twelve emerging artists working across painting, sculpture, photography, and mixed media. Taking its title from two meanings of fabrication - the making of something, and the construction of an idea presented as truth - the exhibition explores how making can change the way we understand ourselves and the world around us. The self is shaped by the places and people we remember, and by conditions beyond the individual. Park works through layers of color and variations in brushwork to make depth and movement perceptible within a still surface. She approaches painting through gesture, play, and material discovery.
