Emblemata

Emblemata was the inaugural exhibition at Alter Space in Brooklyn, New York. Drawing on the historical form of emblemata - short political or moral texts paired with decorative imagery - the exhibition explored how image, symbol, and interpretation can become forms of exchange. For this exhibition, Soojeong presented work within a broader conversation around semiotics, material ambiguity, ecology, and systems of perception. Her contribution extended her ongoing interest in how form, surface, and spatial experience can carry unstable meanings, inviting viewers to look slowly and interpret through both visual and bodily attention.
